Antique Clock Restoration
Each year Menim Restorations undertake three maybe four new commissions depending on the complexity of each clock.
The two styles of clock most asked for are 17th century style Walnut Longcase and Bracket clocks, also English Regulators for the precision minded, including high count wheels and pinions, jewelled pallets and adjustable end stops etc. People have various reasons for commissioning a new clock as opposed to buying a period piece, not least of all the cost. Many may have seen a very expensive clock at auction or a fine museum piece, usually out of most peoples reach, whereas we can recreate the same quality clock for a more affordable price.

All of Menim Restoration’s clocks are built individually and to your specific requirements using only the finest materials. If looked after properly they should give many centuries of service, as their predecessors have done in the past. They are also happy to make cases for a customer’s own movement or supply a movement from their own extensive stock.
